Public Policy at UWSD

United Way of San Diego County is committed to taking positions, on a selective basis, on local, state and federal issues (i.e., legislation, laws, ordinances, ballot propositions, etc.), which have a direct effect on the education, income and health of San Diego residents.

The Public Policy Committee, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, determine the appropriate level of action, which could include letters/phone calls to the author(s) of legislation or proposed bills expressing interest, contact with local officials expressing support or opposition, or mobilizing local efforts within the community to support our efforts.
